About the Author

Robert Eric Dinenberg, M.D. first investigated the healing arts when his honors anthropology thesis on integrative medicine was awarded a University of California at Los Angeles President´s Grant. Dr. Dinnenberg followed his interest in healing to medical school, where he attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

A life-changing event in his second year of medical school transformed his interest in healing to a lifelong commitment to mind and body wellness. After a fall from a balcony left him with a broken neck, Dr. Dinnenberg found himself in the patient´s shoes during his recovery.

He experienced post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks that forced him to focus on healing his mind along with his body. This transformative experience taught him about the power of medicine and that the true path to wellness must address the mind and the spirit as well as the body.

Dr. Dinenberg now practices medicine by remembering how mindfulness, lovingkindness, creativity, and yoga helped him make the transition from being and feeling broken to being and feeling whole. He now dedicates his life to helping people find their way to wellness – body and mind.

Dr. Dinenberg has a private practice in La Jolla, California, where he offers wellness programs to individuals, companies and universities. He lives an active life with his wife Trisha that includes yoga, mindfulness meditation, ocean swimming and tennis.
